I like comics a lot. I like fantasy a lot. I like toy cars and cute stuff. I can play video games without taking in any food for a long time. And I love the science of arts like crazy. (oh my, since when did science and art merge together?)

The year 2011 was the year I continued to enhance my geekiness and artistic appreciation while somehow slacked off in my writing. I tend to make up for that slacking off this 2012, so I do hope that all will be well. Now I'll be listing a few reads and plays that got me running as a geek this year. Roll the camera!

[MANGA READING LIST]

One Piece: Engaging as ever, the action in this manga never ceased. Ever since my first read of this comic in 2001, One Piece has never failed in showing character development. Though the story may be straight forward a little bit now and then; strong battles and interesting characters make up for it.
Bleach: Well at times I find it boring after the Aizen arc. The story now is getting more fast paced, and there's too much questions that it is making me ask. But then again, the powers are cool and it makes me wanna try and start reading Naruto again.
Beelzebub: It's simple art with a simple storyline. The characters development are good in a sense that there are also a lot of characters like in One Piece or Bleach. But then the story seemed to be getting fast paced, skipping many battle scenes that I was looking forward to read at. Oh well, it is still interesting.
Toriko: A manga about food! Always leaves me hungry and salivating. The author is really good at making the ingredients and cooking look delicious. Even though there are not that many flashy techniques or skills used during battles, it's a good read that leaves your food grumbling.. :P
Sket Dance: A heart warming school manga. It's about a club called Sket Dance helping out with their schoolmates in dealing with their problems. The story is funny, and it's been a while since I really laughed a lot after the comic Ranma 1/2. There's also drama where youngsters can probably relate to. A worthy read, since it's not your usual battle manga.
Fairy Tail: When RAVE ended, it left me with a strong impression of Hiro Mashima. Now his new manga Fairy Tail, the tone is very much alike with probably a different setting and a whole set of new characters. The story this time revolves around magicians, battling evil and stuff. What's important is that there are dragons!
Katekyo Hitman Reborn: An action packed comic about the mafia world. Like usual battle like manga, the story is interesting with the various characters having different set of skills. The story has gotten way better now ever since the end of the future arc, and I hope to see more.
Bakuman: Never once I failed to read Bakuman without getting inspired. Inspirational to any artist, Bakuman offers the story of creating art (in the story's case, a manga) step by step. The issues and challenges are realistic, and it may tempt fellow artists to have bigger dreams and higher hopes. It teaches me the value that in art, nothing is certain. You just have to make things as interesting as possible.

[AVIASI FANTASI]

After a while of searching, I finally got a hold of 2 volumes of this book this year. It was very hard to find one, and I treasure it a lot. And it didn't disappoint me as well. Aviasi Fantasi is a comic made by Nazry (the writer) and Afiq (the illustrator) who call themselves by the pen name Feeqry. The comic is purely Malaysian, and the story is breathtaking. It is an adventure like story where two friends go out on an adventure on a self built aeroplane! I have been a fan of them ever since Misi 8A. And I know they have very good control over the story and character development. The art is good as well. It is very balanced and the pages doesn't look empty at all. It is quite sad when they say the story will end soon due to several issues, but I do look forward to more from them.

[BOBOI BOY]

Yes I know this is not a book nor a game, but this animation is awesome in it's own way. Boboi Boy is a Malaysian animation made with the same artistic concept of Upin & Ipin. However, the difference is that it is an action based story; with powers and evil and monsters and stuff. I did support Upin & Ipin when it went out as a series, but Boboi Boy clearly wins a place as a favourite. Go watch it, it's good! (terbaikkk..!)

[POKEMON BLACK]

It's Pokemon guys! The concept of catching monsters and raising them has always won a spot in my heart. This time Pokemon has several new creatures to catch, and a whole new world to explore. There's also a new concept of battle where 3 Pokemon can battle at once. Though I still find it tiring to do trading, I hope this time I'm able to complete my Pokedex!

[DEFENSE OF THE ANCIENTS]

And yes, I still cannot let go of DoTA from my heart. It has strategy. It has beautiful characters and skills. And it has interesting people playing alongside you. There are 4 new heroes released during Christmas, can't wait to try them out! :D

Looking Back (2011) - The People

It will be around 12 hours before a new year dawns over us. So, is your heart filled with anticipation? Is there excitement? Is there fear?

Hello everyone. Welcome again to another entry by me, after two whole months of absolute silence. I have only myself to blame anyway, and I'd like to apologize to Arlene for being away for so long. I missed you a lot, that's why I'm back. Back with a new spirit, so that you won't be filled with dust anymore.

Ha, look at me talking. All right since it's almost the new year, I thought I'd do something different this time around. There will be multiple posts between today until tomorrow, depicting the three major timelines - the past, the present and the future - about the things I wish to keep in the form of writing.

And starting off with the first post are about people! That's right, the people that were such important individuals to me throughout 2011. The people that I would always remember and keep close to my heart, no matter what. I hope they read this.. >.<

[THE FAMILY]

I know I'm not usually the outspoken type, but my love for you guys never waver. Thank you for being the place where I can call home. There's warmth, and there's always good food. It calms my mind just being around you guys.

* To dad, thank you for all the support you ever gave. I'll do my best!
* To mommy, thank you for your motherly magic. And food!
* To Farris and Hafiy, thank you for being funny and loving brothers. I'll worry about you guys forever!

[THE EXTENDED SIBLINGS]

Again, I'm not the one that talks a lot. But you guys deserve the best. Thank you for being there for each other, it's been 3 years since we battled our way through. Now we're entering our 4th year, and carving our own roads ahead. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for all the things that I did wrong to you guys. My love and care will always be there.

* To Dwane, thank you for being a great dude throughout the year. A great guy with deep thoughts and technological awareness. I'll update my iPad later.. :P
* To Nana, thank you for being excited almost all the time. A cheerful person, who tends to worry a lot. A hardworking genius!
* To Fatin, thank you for being the concerned one. No secrets between siblings right? Your words, I'll always remember it.

[THE BEST FRIENDS]

This dedication is for the people whom I consider as best friends (even if they don't). I don't really know what counts as being a best friend, but I think what's important is that they are people that I can talk to about something and get comfortable. You know who you are, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And sorry for all the mistakes that has ever happened between us. Once a best friend, always a best friend.

[THE GUYS]

Right, the guys are the people that has been there as buddies who sit down together and have fun. Be it a barbecue, a long session of PES/DoTA or maybe an outing; you guys rock!

*To Afiq, Luqman, Salleh, Ade, Akhmal, Azfar, Zul...good luck in your exams. And take care always!
*To Aizat, Ammar and Ikram...let's hangout some more soon!

[THE FUTURE TEACHERS]

This dedication is for all of BEDSA members! Ever since I got to know BEDSA in 2009, I know that this is the place where I belong. Let us do our best as future teachers, and gain valuable experiences together. Love all of you very much!

[THE GAMERS]

And finally, another extended family of mine. To DoTA and HoN family members and also those from Cybergamerz, though we rarely meet in person; I always love to have our virtual sessions together. Together we rampage right? So far, that I'm not sure if I can find back the original road that I was on before. When I try to go back, there's doubt. When I want to move forward, there's a heavy rain. Yes, the rain ain't stopping yet.

Hello readers! Sorry for the confusing introduction, but it puts my mind at ease when I make some of my thoughts clear through writing. Even though the gap between this post and the previous one isn't that ridiculous as before, but it's still wide. I need my writing spirit back! Help me! But hey, I did look for ways to get help and I found one. I'm going to go to some sort of writing seminar next week organized by SERUMPUN, and the theme "Melangitkan Karya, Membumikan Cinta" just swept me off my feet. Hope I get the the chance to enhance my writer's enthusiasm and acts.

The reason why I want to be back on track is because I have this dream. The dream to do something big, something phenomenal. I want to move people with what I do, and I want the world to be shaken (in a good manner of course) by my name. When we were still young, my brother Farris and I had the idea to spread the Azere (our second name) name and build the Azere empire. I still want that, and I know my brother is doing it in his own way for now.

This October is the month of smiles! And in line with my dreams especially in achieving a phenomenal grade, I've also launched my first ever campaign related to this month's theme. Welcome to DANS October Smile Campaign! The details can be read in the 'Campaign' section below, so I hope that it'll get a good response from the public. For now I'll pray hard for things that I really want, strive to work intensely and let fate decide the rest. Take care readers! :)

[CAMPAIGN]

Hello! Welcome to DANS October Smile Campaign! In conjunction with my university's upcoming convocation, I've decided to hold a Smiling Campaign this hold month.

Smiling is, in fact, something easy to do. It's a symbol of happiness, it's fun, it's sweet and it's a simple gift that any human can ever give to someone. I like smiles a lot, since it reminds me that there are still some things in this world that can make the heart flutter. My specialty is suddenly smiling when reading something sweet and romantic anyway. :P

So how does the campaign work out? It's simple. Just send me a picture of you or your group through e-mail, showing smiles that you think are the best. Also tell me what makes you smile. I'll gather up all of the pictures by the end of every week and post it up for people to see (here at my blog, Arlene), so that they too can be inspired to smile more and participate in the campaign. Sharing is caring right? I hope that by doing this we can spread the smiles through even the darkest hours.

Below I've inserted a step by step method as to how to make this campaign active. You can promote this campaign with your friends, through your blog or even forward it to your institutions. I hope that everyone will have a great day, and a smile that promises to stay strong always. Thanks a billion.

1. Get your best picture (solo or group, old or new, drawn art is also acceptable) showing the best smiling pose.

2. E-mail your picture to danielazere@yahoo.com along with details below:

* Name
* Current school/university/workplace/location
* Reasons that make you smile
* E-mail (optional)

3. Check out your picture at the end of every week at this blog and spread the smiles!

[REVIEW]

I've never really been a big fan of newspapers. So on the date that IIUM's (International Islamic University Malaysia) first ever newspaper 'The Torch' was supposed to come up, I totally forgot about it (even though I was kinda anticipating it the day before). When a friend of my came to me holding it, I slapped my head.

Anyways, 'The Torch' issue number one is out! With a collaboration with the New Strait Time (NST), IIUM finally published it's very own student's newspaper. It's not as thick as a regular paper, but the news inside was definitely concise and well written. The paper focuses greatly on news related to IIUM and it's people; which makes it easier for the IIUM community to relate with the stories published. Oh and the paper was free for all.

What makes me kinda proud about the paper is the fact that it's a project that requires a lot to do to pull it off, and the paper's team (consisting of mostly the students themselves) managed to give a clean start to The Torch. When it came out almost everyone I met around the campus was holding one, and it indeed has garnered a phenomenal start. Though there were a few minor errors that I noticed, I'm really supporting the best for the newspaper's prospects in the future. If there's some extra money, I hope that The Torch can improve in the quantity of it's content and sections. Good job! (Rating: 4.3 out of 5)

Resting! (as a University Student)

The gap between this post and the previous entry is, in a way, utterly ridiculous. I've always avoided the 'diary-like' kind of post, so that's why there aren't a lot of things to say here (or am I making excuses now?). All in all, welcome back Daniel Azere!

This month of July marks the season of holiday. Where students (especially those on the tertiary levels) go out and about, enjoying the summer sun or winter snow, traveling across borders with families and friends. Some also might prefer the comfort of their home, munching cookies along the way, doing stuff that could never be exactly fitted properly in their busy student's life. Some might even opt the challenge to take on a job, getting a few extra cash to be kept or spent during the relaxing holiday period. The resting time for students is here, almost for each and every one of them.

Taking a rest from the university for isn't about getting the mind off of studying. Personally, I adore learning. Plus being at the university allows me to meet people a lot. What I truly want to take a rest on is basically from the non-academic activities. Don't get me wrong, getting involved in programs make me feel alive. But at times when there's a direct wave of things to do and programs to settle, the energy from the body and mind just seeps away quickly without time to recharge properly. I know that this may be the result of me not having proper time management (working hard on this, don't worry!), I'm just glad that now I get some 'me' time and finally put my thoughts in writing.

So how's your holiday going on for you? Come share with me if you feel like it. As a final word, get the time to recharge and let me see all of you with a renewed spirit for the new semester. Until next time, take care!

[UPDATE]

Actually, I didn't go through (almost) one year of gap without any creative input. But lately I've been involved in poetry, so if any of you haven't checked it out be sure to go through the link at bottom. On a side note, my friend (Luq) and I have finally self published our very own poetry book last year! It was an exciting experience, and our second book is on the way. So do anticipate for it~ :D

http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://danslinkage.blogspot.com/2011/07/resting-as-university-student.html' title='Resting! No matter how you try to turn things around, the heart is still a super sensitive organ (perhaps like glass). Time after time we mend this glassy heart; how many times has it been broken?

The month of August so far was a season for countable heartbreaks, with September creeping in tomorrow perhaps bringing along some light of hope. But one of the greatest lessons I've learned in life is that in times when you have heartbreaks or get depressed or become extremely sad, always remember to look for that 'box of delight' to cheer you up. Every single human have their own personal customized 'box of delight', that some don't even know it existed. It can consist of a talk with the family, a walk in the park with some friends, playing games and also reading a book. It is always filled with the things that you enjoy and have fun with. People tend to dwell too much on their troubles that they are pulled even deeper into complicated emotions. So if you are having a heartbreak now, go find that box now!

Want to know one of the things inside my box? My dear bloggy! Whenever I feel the need to express and get creative and have fun with words, she's always here for me to do so. And guess what? 14 August was her 2nd birthday. Happy belated birthday bloggy! It took me a while to figure out a gift, but I've decided that as a present to this blog I'm going to give it a name. So from this moment on this blog is going to be named: Arlene!

That's it for this time then. As a final note, remember that hardships are there for testing us in life and that God has already gave a pass for everyone as long as we follow his guidelines. All of you should know how to have fun sometimes, because all of you deserve it. Take care now! =)

[UPDATE]

I thought of having many updates this month, but it seems that I'm still slacking in time. No matter, let us pray for a less heartbreak time in the future. Onwards!

1. "Shot! The quote above was taken from a commentary of the Japan VS Paraguay penalty shoot-out yesterday (I noticed that sport commentators are very creative in a way). But what does it take to be 'world class'? Does entering a worldwide competition makes you a world class competitor? Does scoring the appropriate points makes the things you do is on a world class level?

I believe that everyone has the possibility to become world class. Of course, they need to work hard, believe in their own selves and have the ability to uphold the pressure of the world. I'd like to stress on self-confidence here, as the world will believe in you when you are able to believe in yourself more. No matter what you do, be proud of the results and do better the next time you do it again. >.<

I have a target to become world class in my writing, so first I need to brush up my pace. What's your world class target? Tell me. Just remember here that I believe you can do it. ^^

[UPDATE]

Here I am finally with an update. I've decided to take my time here to get my rhythm back, so please bear with me! I made a change in my update section, this time you just have to click at the title. Simple right? I'll make this brief, so keep on moving forward guys. Let's go!

1. "Shot :: Pick Me Up"

Oh Wow!

Wow, I can't believe that it's been more than 7 months since I last updated! And I can't imagine that here I am right now 4.30am in the morning, writing something. Guess I'm up and about now. Let's see if this keeps up for long enough. Onwards!

World Cup is finally here. I know that I was never a big fan of football or soccer, and has only just recently showed a bit of interest. But World Cup is quite a grand event, with a lot of positive intensity and excitement. I remembered when I was really young I used to try my best to stay up at night accompanying my dad to watch the games. As I went on with my teenage years, I never cared much about it and seemed to have left my dad to watch the game alone most of the time. So to dad, I'm excited about World Cup once again. Wait until I get back home for the holidays eh? ^^

There has been other major events going on, with the attack on Flotilla (which I pray that the vicious are damned) and the heart going further "tasteless" (which I hope gets better soon). But all in all, it's been an adventurous 7 months which I one day hope to get it on ink and papers.

As a final note on the start of my new blogging season, no updates this time. Haha, but it's on it's way. So do wait and until next time!

[BLABBER]

And it kicks off! Just so you know, I'm rooting for Netherlands a.k.a. Holland! The early days of World Cup has been entertaining so far, and I've only watched two matches: South Africa VS Mexico, England VS USA.

Being the advocate for this year game, South Africa showed spirit and tenacity. Even though it may not be the most favored team, they managed to concede a first goal against opponent Mexico with a nice counter-attack strategy. Mexico, being rather unlucky in the match in my opinion, did not stand still. They managed to score a goal with only 20 minutes left on the clock. It ended in a 1-1 draw.

A huge disappointment dropped on England's fan as the England VS USA match ended with a draw of 1-1. An early score (4 minutes) from England seemed to show that the team had the games in their hand. However USA showed that they too had power of their own, when a shot from them made England's keeper fumbled and scored a goal. It was indeed a very intense fight when second-half began, yet it ended in a stalemate.

What about your World Cup experiences so far? Catch up later folks! ^^

The Sweetness of Teamwork!

"What's gonna work? -- Teamwork!"

Of course, most of the young children know where this tag line comes from. That's right, this month is the season of teamwork -- where trusts are given, and success achieved. It's true that at times working alone is the best way, but no one can make it 100% on their own throughout their life. They would go crazy!

How can we strive for the sweetest effect of doing teamwork? For starters, be friendly and converse. It's hard to understand someone if there's no communication. I know I'm really bad at talking, but I try my best to take action through (perhaps) other means of communication. When there's a connection, then it would be a breeze to head towards the same goal.

Uwa, I'm beginning to ramble yet again. Anyways, in conclusion teamwork is quite delicate yet it's really fun. I'll do my best so that among my friends, the bond of teamwork will always stay strong no matter where we are. Take care now readers! ^^

p/s: I've been away for so long, where's the writer's path I'm supposed to follow? I've been busy with managing my head and university life that I had almost neglected writing which I love doing most. However, I haven't been away without any developments within myself...so I guess it is forgivable that I've been away for so long.

This month is the season of learning. For some particular reason, my senses and instincts as a teacher were enhanced dramatically this past few weeks. I felt like I wanted to teach already! However, I still have a lot to learn. And I don't want my university life to end so quickly just yet.

Islamic Worldview

Instructional Technology

Linguistics

Educational Psychology

Grammatical Analysis

ELT Methodology

Tools for Thinking

These are the mixtures of the 'dry and wet' subjects I'm taking this semester. I hope I can keep up with my studies while I try my best to write. And I hope I don't blabber on with a 'diary-style' posting later on. Well then, take care readers! Do your best in your own learning and always believe that God is there to help us. It's very uncommon for us to hear sermons in English (usually it's in Arabic, where I usually fall asleep) so I took the chance to really listen. The issue was on unity, and that bit of quote cropped up in between. What was troubling me though was that I didn't really get what the imam was trying to say.

What does 'respecting others' really mean? Does it happen when we talk politely to someone else? Or is it trying our best not to annoy someone? I always thought that respect would always come when a person loves or likes another person, but when the imam said that it really got my head thinking.

Well, I guess there are many levels of respect to ponder on. I'm still currently dissecting the word 'respect' in order to grasp a better understanding, so anyone that can help me are gladly welcome. On a different matter, I decided to continue the season of siblings for another month (Farris never got a chance to make an appearance). Haha, until next time folks! Enjoyyy... ^^

[UPDATE]
The other day, Kikuri gave me a task to do on writing and I'm pretty excited about it! (to Kikuri, I'm sorry that it's not done yet since I have a few university work to finish off first...but I've started to write it and hopefully it will be done by the 23rd or 24th). Well, got to get my spirits up. Here are some updates from a few days back. Take care readers!

1. Hafiy Warns Us...

Hafiy is cheeky, active and a pampered child. There are times when he frustrates me with his laziness to learn or having a tantrum with his childish wants, but there is not a moment where my heart turns to hate him. Haha, meet my youngest brother Hafiy. As you may see from the pictures below, he is really a heartwarming fellow (though I think he is a very rough guy in school).

This little guy is someone that may have a future in sports. Very active in taekwando, very active in running around and very active in wanting sport equipments (these traits are very unlikely of his other siblings). Being 10 years younger than me and the youngest, it's not a wander that he's very lovey-dovey with the rest of the family. ^^

Well, that's it I guess. A bit short, but I can't really give in all the details right? Haha, my spirit is going downhill upon reaching adulthood. I'm having a funny feeling inside me that I can't quite describe what. A diagnosis, anyone? Aha, that aside...here are some pictures of Hafiy. Enjoy! No updates this time...sigh. But hopefully there will be next week! Go Dzafff!!!! ^^

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://danslinkage.blogspot.com/2009/04/youngest-caution-hafiy-warns-us.html' title='The Youngest: Caution! You're lucky to have your brothers looking up to you." I already knew it for a long time, having siblings are great. Not only that we share the same interest, but having siblings really helped me in becoming a person that worries and cares about others!

I still remembered one time when my younger brother Farris did not come home on time one evening, during one of his excursions outside the house. I ended up being so worried about him that I cried when he finally came home at 7.15 p.m. (and they say I don't care about them). Haha, that happened a long time ago when I was 10. Now, I can already trust Farris to take care himself. But I'm still quite worried about Hafiy (my youngest brother) who doesn't seem to show any signs of independence until today. Maybe I'll give him a few more years... ^^

What makes me ponder is the fact that I don't have any female siblings. Not that I care that much, but it has made me into a very curious person regarding the ladies. So, any girls that I've done wrong to...please forgive me!

Thus, I open this month of April as the season of 'Siblings'! Love your brothers or sisters, for they will love you even more. Next time I'll make a recent review about my brothers. Until then, take care you guys! ^^

[UPDATE]

Well, I still don't have the consistency to write a lot in a period of time. I may have been quite busy with my studies lately, which is fortunately a good thing. Anyway, I'll do my best to write in an acceptable pace. And holidays are coming up, so I'll do my best! ^^

1. "Prologue of a Woman" - http://crossover-mist.blogspot.com/ (by dzafarin)
2. The atmosphere is intense, and the heat keeps getting warmer. I'm exaggerating of course, but I have seen some students doing some really weird stuff. And my classmates may get disowned if we don't answer EDC2217 properly on a certain topic (ah, the pressure!). On other events, a certain someone is becoming more attractive to me. Hurry and steal my heart already someone! Hee~ ^^

My Choice (Category: Women)

Ah, I forgot to tell you readers in the previous entry that this month is the season of women! The reason behind it was that it was the International Women's Day on the 8th of March. So to those that I haven't sent my regards to; happy belated women's day everyone! Then the next day our university had 'Maulud Nabi', which also focused on the lives of the prophet with his wives (in the articles that were handed out that day). I learned a bit more on being a good husband. Hehe...

Well, talking about women and being a good husband...I started to think. What are the real characteristics I seek in women if I were looking for a wife? When I was still a kid; I always thought that I'd be with someone popular and beautiful. Then I realised during my teens, that really won't make me entirey happy. When I was stiil a teenager; I always thought that the right one had to be the one creating positive feelings within me. Then I realised at this point of reaching adulthood, it's not always sugar in a family.

Haha...I don't know if any of the above makes sense, so lets just cut to the chase and see what I seek inside my dream lady thus far. Lets go!

1. A woman who has a strong basis of Islam.
2. A woman that can make me 'feel' every emotions a human can have. I don't want to just 'laugh'; make me 'cry' or become 'serious' once in a while.
3. A woman that can cook, a good cook.
4. Well, I've always thought I'd prefer the women that can make strong decisions or a stand of their own. It's just that I'd like to 'argue' once in a while.
5. A woman that can make me say, "Wow!" at times.

[UPDATE]

I guess that's the list for now. Pretty short huh? Well, that's just the main criteria I'm looking for. There are other small stuffs, but listing them would take time. Here's an update for this time. I've already began a side-project with dzafarin entitled 'MiST', so be sure to check it out through the link below! ^^

1. I can't believe there were no posts in this blog the whole February. I'm a bit disappointed, but then again I've been rarely online. *Sigh* Lately, the rain has been falling continuously; as if the sky is weeping at my slow pace. Haha, guess I need to be more proactive (wait, haven't I been saying the same thing all this time?).

Perhaps February was a 'lost' since many of my fellow ex-collegemate had gone away to another land to take another step into their career. I was sad, mixed with a bit of unwillingness; but I was glad that everything went along smoothly. I shall always pray for them and hope that they will come back to Malaysia with style.

February was not everything a 'lost'. Various kinds of outer inspiration had came last month, be it in class or from my fellow friends. My latest 'mind project' (to be materialised this month) is my second joint-venture with Dzaf. I hope I can finish the planning quickly so that Dzaf and I can start writing straight away. Do wait for it to be released! ^^

Well, I have nothing more to say. I did write a lot in my other blogs, so check it out through the links below okay? Take care readers! ^^

[UPDATE]
Ah, it feels good to write this much last month. My mind was calm, and my words were flowing with much freedom. Pray that I can continue being like this, especially with another latest project. Here are some links. I remembered my first play being “Beauty and The Beast” which was performed on ice in Sydney, during my stay there in 1997. Then there was “Aladdin”, and then it was “The Enemy of The People” which was performed at KL Pac during my study at KMS. My juniors before this have also acted out plays during an activity in KMS, and all of them are pretty interesting to watch. Recently, I’ve watched “It Takes Two to Tango” and “Alahai...Soto!” being performed here inside my very university.

First, let me say that both of those plays were very well presented and piqued a deep curiosity within myself. The actors and actresses had strong voices, and the stage was managed in a very balanced manner. Even though the plays were conducted by the students themselves, it gave a sense that they were almost professional.

That night, the play “It Takes Two to Tango” began their performance first. It was an English play, and I admit that the performers had impressive pronunciation in their dialogues. The story revolves around two married couples, who each had their own problems in their marriage. It was interesting to see how one spouse can be so patient towards the other, that it develops a certain tension in the air. The ending was a bit weird for me, but I got the message of the play clearly: a marriage can’t work with only one person, it takes two. Thus, the title becomes clear. It had nothing to do with doing tango (which I had wished to see). ^^

After the play had finished, the audience were then presented with another play entitled “Alahai...Soto!” This time, it was a Malay play. This story was quite long compared to “It Takes Two to Tango”, and it had a lot of funny scenes in it. The play tells the audience a story about a village, where the villagers had to overcome certain problems involving mainly the town’s head gangster. The main character Mak Jah, also had an issue with her son who just got back from London. It was a very heart-warming tale despite the many jokes that were made, and it manipulates the theme of family quite deeply. If it weren’t for the much laughter the audience had, the play might have managed to bring tears in some of their eyes.

Good job to the Nusantara group for performing such wonderful dramas! Hope to see you guys in another story, another time.

Finding 'D'

If I was given a choice to choose a letter that would determine my future, I would choose the letter D. Partly because my name starts with it, and partly because I feel a certain 'connection' with the letter. But I know that such 'connection' does not exist. What I know is that I have a strong feeling with letter D.

Recently on an outing to a shopping mall, an idea crossed my mind as I walked along the many rows of shops. Why don't I try and find a store name that starts with 'D'? I looked at my left, I looked at my right. Huh? There were no stores whose name begins with 'D'. Maybe not on this floor, I suggested to myself. So up the escalator I went. Left, right, left, right. Still, no sign of any 'D's. It can't be, right?

At the end of the excursion, I only managed to find only one store name beginning with 'D'. I was sad and excited at the same time since 'D' was so rare. I guess the letter 'D' was much associated with negativity. Remembering what adjectives to fit my name during an English class in Form One, here were the only positive choices I had:

determined, dynamic, diligent, dainty, daring, ???

Haha, I really am just thinking to much. 'D' is just a letter, and letters exist to form words, and words are produced to express ourselves as a human. As a side note; I hope those creating war and disrupting peace find their own 'D', their own destruction, damnation, disgrace, demolishment, disease, death, desperation, defeat, and so on....

[UPDATES]
Haha, just forget any nonsense I put up there just now. If you get what I mean, then that's good. Well, here's an update for this time. Man I really need to avoid distractions on the net. My pace of writing has become entirely slow. Take care and enjoy..!!!

1. On an important note, I've been thinking on 'the self' these past few days. Who am I really? What character do I actually conceive within me? I know finding the answer won't be easy, but I'm not that hopeful at finding any answer at all.

Haha, putting that thoughts aside...lets re-cap 2008 in one breath!

1. The year where A-level ends, with high hopes that the bond created lasts...
2. The year where love seems delusional, and noticed that I'm really just not that type anymore...
3. The year where this blog began, taking another step towards achieving the dream...
4. The year where I realised what 'artificial connection' was, my trust begins to disappear...
5. The year where I created 'Sweetness Day' (13th April) and 'Kite Day' (27th December)...

Well, a lot of things happened. It'll never be enough to tell all the joy and tears we all had together. We'll talk about self resolution another time. Learn the past, experience the present, paint the future. Enjoy readers...!!!

"People always say make a better for the New Year...does it matter when nobody cares? [And Happy New Year everyone. Still loving you guys!]"

[UPDATE]
A brand new year, a brand new spirit. I wanted to make the best of it this year, and I'm always praying that I could espeacially manage myself well. Here's one update for the new year! I'll add something new next time, and I'm hoping that all who enjoys Malay writings would wait with expectations; espeacially Dwane, Tasha, Nazir and Wan Khai. Today's motto is: "Believe in yourself!"...take care and enjoy readers!

1. "Shot! :: She Asked "Why?"" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

[REVIEW]
"You and I are both the sides of the same coin."

On today's review, I'm going write on an interesting Role Playing Game (RPG) of 2008 called 'Persona 3: FES'. Surely most avid gamers would know of the game; espeacially for it's uniquely designed storyline. The game revolves around a main character, who is expected to join an investigation team regarding the Dark Hour and Tartarus. What is a Dark Hour anyway? Well, lets just say it's an extra hour that exists in the main character's world; making the day actually having 25-hours instead of 24. Tartarus is the mysterious tower which only appears during the Dark Hour. The investigation team must go inside Tartarus, battle monsters called Shadows using Personas (a monster residing inside a character's soul) and try to erase the Dark Hour.

Enough said on the storyline, what attracts me to the game is actually how we must make bonds (called Social Links) with people in the game to make our character much stronger. It's like making friends and then understanding what different adversities the human face in an ordinary life. The Social Link system really helped me a lot in understanding our real life better; how to cope with displacement and betrayal, what it's like loving someone older, internet socialisation and many other problems.

I always believe that games could become educational at times, espeacially on the language and soft skills. Though this game uses quite a language (with "sh*t" and "f*ck" inserted), other than that the game's quite okay. Gamers might even learn some interesting facts in 'Persona 3'. I need to say that this is a 'Matured' rated game, so parental discretion is advised for youngsters under 16. 'Persona 4' came out on English version on December, can't wait to finish this one!(Rating: 4.5 out of 5.0)

It Has Begun: New Season in Learning!

First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest apologies to all readers (if there's still any) out there for not being able to update for a VERY long time. My new homw has no internet connection at the moment, and it's quite hard for me to access the internet here in my university. Another deep apologise to all bloggers (espeacially those whom I follow their work on) for not being able to enjoy all of your writing pieces. Please bear with me.

Since it's quite rare for me to be here in cyberspace, I might as well make this entry worthwhile. On the 10th of December, I finally made my first step towards the next level of education...the university! Hehe, I was quite excited with this since the long holidays almost turned me into a zombie. My university (I'm going to make the name a secret~) is extremely large compared to KMS, the food's excellent, and the people (so far) are enjoyable.

What I look forward most in a new environment is the people. Since I aim to be a passionate writer, meeting new people generates new ideas within myself. I told you guys in my previous posts that I've been lacking the ideas, but ever since I entered university I already managed to get a new idea! ^^

On a side, I guess the most important thing right now is the will to study (the subjects I'm taking this semester sounds weird). My passion to write will continue to burn, and my passion for study will burn even more! Pray for me so that I'll not commit to the same mistake of the past, and strive for the dream that shall last. Uh-oh, my time's almost up. Until further meetings my dear readers. Bubbye!!

[UPDATES]
I wow myself for managing the time for an update. Haha, though it's just one entry (the #07 I did it last month)...I hope you guys enjoy it! Take care... ^^

1. My dad bought this as a gift for my youngest brother Hafiy for finally achieving greatness in his studies; getting the title 'Number Two' among his classmates. Hoooray for Hafiy! As the one who thought him, I was elated he achieved good grades (though I'm still dissapointed with his Mathematics). I was even more elated when my dad bought the PSP for him, since I could also 'share' the experience of playing a brand new console. Hehe...

But buying the PSP means one thing, my fate to play Pokemon games from a Nintendo handheld console is closed yet once again. It has always been my desire since primary school, to get a hold of a GameBoy and play Pokemon games at my own leisure. Since Pokemon games doesn't come in any other game consoles, it makes the title quite special in a way. Eventhough I get to play the game on the computer when I was much older, I just don't feel satisfied.

Perhaps it's time I should close my 'gamers heart' from hoping anymore Pokemon games in the future. When I have the money of my own, I'll make sure I'll open it once again! (guess I'm still not giving up...^^)

[UPDATES]
Well, it's not like I don't have any fate with Pokemon at all. I still watch its anime series, and i even collect its trading cards. I'm not that bothered not being able to play the game. Here are the updates for today! Finally found the lost manuscript, and I hope i won't have to lose it again. Take care readers~!

1. So, today's word is:

intermezzo (n) - a short piece of music

The spelling is quite unique, and this widens my vocabulary in music. Hope it helps you too! ^^

[BLABBERS]
Science nowadays has reached interesting heights. Just now I was reading a National Geographic's magazine, and I came across an article regarding a biologists who determines the 'taste level' (how tasty it is) of frogs by licking them. That's right, the biologists herself licks the frog on the body! Talk about eccentric...haha, on other issues; the price of roti canai/teh tarik and nasi beriyani in Malaysia are reduced by 10 cents and 20 cents accordingly. This is to ensure that the price is the same for all stalls. Is it?

Being Busy Is Not Always Bad

My simple ways of getting busy is either I play a game for 2 hours straight, read at least 4 volumes of comic or write anything that piques my interest. I guess these activities are not as 'healthy' as it sounds, but it's not entirely bad as well. Sometimes, being busy with the things you like most can take your mind off the things that are troubling you; such as problems at work, at school or at home. Ease up the pressure inside for a while, and get back to solve you problems calmly and efficiently (leaving them unintended is a pretty bad situation).

Getting busy is negative when you neglect others around you. "I'm busy working, so I don't have any time for my kids." or "I'm busy playing games, so I can't do my chores." are just a few of the sentences that could make a relationship go haywire. Unable to 'get busy' with others may lead to further problems you are running away from, thus making you even more pressured than before.

So readers, don't just get busy doing your own things; but get busy mingling and caring for those who are important as well. Think positive, and there should be a way to settle the scores fairly.

[UPDATES]
I'm starting to sound like some kind of motivator or something. Haha, here are the updates for this time. A few things are bothering my mind, so I guess I'm going to get busy updating more often (hopefully...). ^^

1. "#06: In Search For Nana" - http://tesl-dissapear.blogspot.com/
2. "Shot! :: It Could Be..." - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

[REVIEW]
Anyone who are fans of J-drama should definitely have heard of a drama entitled 'Hana Yori Dango' which was released with 2 seasons. And now, the story's own movie is finally up and running on movie screens nationwide! The story basically revolves around Makino Tsukushi, who is closely involved with a group of outrageously rich guys who calls themselves F4; Tsukasa Domyouji, Hanazawa Rui, Nishikado Soujiroh, and Mimasaka Akira (check wikipedia for more info).

In the movie, Domyouji is now Makino's boyfriend, and announces to the world that he will marry her soon (reminder: he is the head of a mega corporate group!). Domyouji's mother then gave Makino a tiara, The Smiling Venus, as a symbol for her to enter the family. This tiara is said to be worth at least 30 million dollars! Things began to get disastrous when suddenly, the tiara gets stolen and only the couple knows who took it. In order to save the marriage, both Domyouji and Makino must find the tiara, leading them to a testing adventure of love and friendship. Will they ever get married?

The movie is as interesting as its drama; packed with action, suspense, romance and values to ponder. Whenever the couple's relationship seems to be in a pinch, it always give a certain 'vibe' in my soul (and a 'churn' in my stomach). The plot is interesting, the twist magnificently manuevered. It's sad to know that this is the last title that the story is going to show, but all that begins must come to an end. Then an end gives rise to another beginning. Check this movie out on TGVs near you! ( Rating: 4.0 out of 5)

The Snap Of Who You Really Are

Talking about the issue of 'self', I have always realised that my 'picture identity' here in cyberspace are rarely real pictures of my own self. There are practically a few reasons for that, but the number one reason is that I don't want those who are apparently still dissapointed in me see what I look like.

But not to worry. I've already got past that barrier, and now I've started to upload realistic pictures (espeacially on Friendster). I don't want reality to bite me hard...hehe. Not talking much here since I've been tagged. Take care everyone!

[UPDATES]
Wow, it feels so good to start being active again. For October, I've only managed to generate two new titles which to me is a pretty good thing. But I think I'm at my limit. My 'idea pool' is drained up. Anyone willing to fill it up with fresh ideas are greatly welcomed! Here's an update for today. ^^

1. I've been helping my parents a lot (since we are going to move to a new house soon) and my mood to write have been 'sliced up' into pieces (my manuscript for 'Once Upon a Cherry Tree' is lost, I feel like crying). It's been a whole month since I wrote something on 'DANS Original', and I only managed to get three titles in the 'TESL Series'. Sigh...I feel bad. I feel sick.

Well, what's done is done. Starting next month, I'll be back on track. Anyone still reading this, I sincerely say thank you.

[UPDATES]
These are the only updates I managed to do for this month.

1. The month of Syawal came replacing Ramadhan, and all muslims in the world are excited for Raya! Before I go further into this entry, I would like to wish all muslims 'Selamat Hari Raya' and forgive me if there is any wrong doings that I had done in the past to you guys. A special wish to all my dear readers, I'm sorry for all the wrong words that have been put into this blog. Hehe, okay...let the Raya celebration begin!

Since it's a celebrating month and all, I decided that this month would be the season of colours! That's right. As I pass the many people today at the mosque, many interesting colours have caught my eyes. There was a very unique blue worn by a kid, and a woman was seen wearing a very beautiful red head scarf. Not to mention my mother, the creamy greenish dress really made her look extra pretty. (the rest of us guys in the family wore black, haha...)

Many different colours exist in this world, and they're all unique in their own sense. Seeing people wearing new dresses of every colour this Raya really made me think, that no matter how different you are we are still one as muslims. And lets hope we always stay as one throughout this lifetime! Have a nice colourful and blessed Raya all! I want to munch some cookies. =)

p/s: Waiting for 'the lady in turquoise'...hehe, I'm being very nakal here. Sorry ya! ;p

[UPDATES]
Well, I managed to get an update eventhough it had been quite an eventful sequence of days. I hope some would have the time to catch up with the new releases! Haha, take care and enjoyyy..!

1. So...what do I mean when I say 'normal'? In the world of fantasy; you could say I was referring to those type of people who don't possess incredible abilities, powers or strengths. Take for example Ai Mori from The Law of Ueki (in the earlier series, since she would receive a power later). She's young, cute (at least I think so) and has absolutely no ability to defend her ownself around her power-users friends and enemies. But despite all that; Ai still managed to get through tough matters in the end, like how she ended a match with Kabara (a power-user) in a draw using only her tactical skills. No super powers involved!

It shows here that being normal is not synonymous with the adjective weak. Being normal might put you at a disadvantage, but that doesn't mean you can't get pass powerful opponents. With brains and a bit of luck, even the mightiest power would succumb to those who are called 'normal'. And in my own opinion, I think 'normal' characters in any series are far more interesting to observe. They create humour, and teaches us to be strong in the mind and the heart.

Reality-wise, it doesn't matter if you're not the most active sportsmen or the most talented individuals. Sometimes, getting on with life normally is already a heck of a thing to do. Realise that you're already great by just doing that. Congratulations! (no updates for today folks...)

[WORD POWER]

Haha, I've always realised my weak spelling skills and also the low level of vocabulary in me. Thus, this new segment is to help me (and also maybe you readers) in improving this weakness. Today's word is:

cockle (n) - an edible shellfish

Yes people, not many know what those 'kerang' in Kuey Teow Kerang or Kerang Rebus are in English. And that's what it is. Thank you to Zatil for asking! Hehe, until the next informative session guys.

[BLABBERS]

Ramadhan is coming to an end. People move around here and there; some were shopping and some were on their way back to their loved ones. It's nice to see the existence of a nice and warm flow among the society still. Recently, I've read an article regarding the types of 'moe' (a specific type that an otaku relly love) in a manga or anime. It turns out that I have a liking in those who fall under the megane and tsundere types. I really am a manganime freak 100%!

Art of Cooking: Don't Hesitate to Experiment

“Why don’t the potatoes soften after I cooked it for a while? The onions are getting burned!” That’s what ran in my head as I attempted a chicken dish for the first time. I still lack the moves and knowledge, but cooking is exciting! I always have myself imagining what dish I’d create once I go to university before I go to bed. Potatoes, beef, fish…all these ingredients seem to flow inside my mind every night with me cooking it in different styles. My mouth would water, and I’d get hungry.

To think that cooking would actually stimulate my imagination and not just my appetite. Once after I had finished cooking breakfast, loads of ideas come into my head for my writings. To see the different ingredients mixed together to create a delicious dish also gives me an insight that arts (I mean any type of arts) are basically the same. It requires the ‘ingredients’, passion, hard work and most importantly; experimentation. It’s not always good things that come out on your first try. Experimenting different ways and ‘ingredients’ are essential in getting a work of art that satisfies you and also others.

What’s great about cooking is that anyone can do it and it’s much easier for others to indulge in your work of art. Not everyone adores reading, but all humans must eat right? So come on, let’s try some cooking! It’s worth the try. I’d recommend watching ‘Chef at Home’, a good cook show for most beginners. Well then, enjoy!! Just make sure don’t serve anything burnt!

[UPDATES]
It's been a while since I experimented with my writings. Recently it suddenly hit me hard that i can't really write factual things. So I guess it's time to pick up that pen and start to practice. Factual writings would really help me in getting assignments done, right? Enjoyy these updates for today!

1. "Zero Degrees: Nine" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/
2. Featured today on this site is: my mother! That's right. When I think about food, my mom would pop up as one of the best cooks I could ever think off. If I were to express how her cookings are like, they are: rich, expressive, and simple at times. What catches my attention in my mom's art of cooking is that no matter how she thows in her ingredients, it would eventually turn out right in the end. For example; she once substituted 'bread crumbs' with 'wholemeal biscuits' (since we had no crumbs at the time) to make Pegedil! I never thought that would work.

The most important thing that can be learned from my mother's excellent cooking skills is to practice, practice and practice! She got that good because she has been 'drilled' by her grandmother ever since primary school. Talk about cooking for almost all of your life! =P

Ramadhan: Final 10 Days Where the Gates of Hell are Closed

The days are progressing on quite fast, and Ramadhan has only 10 days left. It's quite sad knowing that the most blessed month is leaving us Muslims yet once again. Well, lets just make the best of it while its still there. Hek!

Finally, I managed to begin 'TESL: Dissapear' after waiting for such a long time. Ever since 'TESL: Battle Royal' went to a sudden halt, my mind had been eagerly excited to start over a TESL production from scratch (this time without Dzaf in it, so sad!). Anyway, the series is up and running for public view. This time the element of mystery is put into main focus, but do expect an equal level of action and paranoia as well! It's a bit dissapointing that Ican't collect the data I wanted for the story, I guess I would have to do with just what I have now. So, please show your support readers!

I'll take a long break from adding new titles from now on. Maybe after I finish the first season of 'Zero Degrees' I'll spice up my work with something new. Until then, take care! To all muslims, grab the chance of Lailatul Qadar this last 10 days alright?

[UPDATES]
Fuhhh...finally the new titles are out. I was eating sahur one day and 'Numb3rs' was playing on AXN. The idea of using maths to solve crimes is quite cool. No complex machines like in the CSI are in use, just a blackboard and a few chalks would do the trick. Every time I watch the series, I'm always fascinated by mathematics. But then again, why do I always try to run away from this subject?

I know. Math is used everyday, in any occasion. My mum once dared me to name an activity not involving numbers, resulting in me unable to find it. Time, money, weight, height; all of this things are related to maths and to our everyday doings. Put solving crimes aside, I think that's the real magic in maths. It's everywhere, everytime! How cool can a subject be?

From the kitchen to the sports field, there's maths involved at any place. No wonder I couldn't get away from it no matter how hard I try. Well, time to accept the fact and move on Try and enjoy maths, and enjoy life!

[UPDATES]
There's maths in writing too! From the number of words to the length of paragraphs, it's inevitable even in pursuing my dreams. Haha, not that I'm complaining. Here's an update for the day, maybe I'll add in a few titles by tomorrow. Look out! (link next to title)

1. Having readers is the most important fuel for me to proceed in this dream, but there's another thing I need to get past first. One of a writer's dilemma, the horror of tenacity. Most of you are probably unaware, but like I said in the first post here...this is my third time setting up a blog in pursuing my writer dreams. I've stopped halfway twice already!

I guess all artists go through this phase. You get excited in starting, and when your halfway through it you come to a halt for various reasons. Getting unmotivated, being too lazy, the sudden lack of facilities, feeling at a lost of kick regularly; and the list goes on. Believe me, I've been through most of this stuff. And I'm quite terrified to say that I'm almost on the verge of succumbing to this phase yet again, since I've been really late on updating. It really is frustrating when you can't keep up with the deadline you yourself set. Haizzz...

But I don't plan on giving up yet. As long as there's still one reader out there, I'll do my best to continue to write even if it kills me (total exaggeration, but I need it). Yeah, this is my new principle as of today. Get ready 'writing world', here I come!! To all of those who are feeling the same, don't fall for it just yet. If you need the support,I'll gladly try and help. Untill then, take care readers!! Hehe.. =)

[UPDATES]
Well, I am really spirited, but there's only one update for today (and after solong too). Haha, I'll be more careful with keeping up next time. Oh, and below are also a few links to my previous blogs if you were wondering. Don't bother commenting there, it's been abandoned (so sad!). Just realise it's kind of a waste to stop halfway. I already noticed it myself. Enjoyyy..!!

1. Do you know who you are? People always say, people around you know you better. It is partly true, since most of the times humans tend to deny the things they want to believe are non-existant in their own nature. So when you get to know other people, you are actually getting to know your own self.

Getting to know yourself is quite a good and exciting thing to do. It's a chance to 're-structure' those unwanted parts of yourselves, and at times you'll be amazed at the things you never ever realised about yourself. Maybe all this while you've been buying clothes, you don't realise that you've been buying mostly those of a certain colour or design! And by knowing yourself more, you'll become better at 'being your own self'. No need to 'act' out anymore, and just 'be'!

If I haven't make myself quite clear here, I'm sorry. Since I've been tagged, I'll make this short. Get to know others, and get to know yourself. Life has its ways to make humans become less selfish. I'd like to know all my readers better too! Hehe..take care. Every human is different to one another, having different musings and dislikes. Everyone can't possibly be happy with everyone. Perhaps that's just what life is. I for one, really despise people looking down on other people's dreams even for the tiniest bit (even if it is a joke!). But I understand. Not everybody is perfect. They don't mean it, I know.

It can't be helped. We are humans and humans make mistakes. Sometimes, we don't even realise that we are making a mistake. We tend to do what the heart tells us, follow our instincts. But we're not even sure if that thing was the right thing to do. Some 'steps' we've taken, might not be able to be seen anymore; to be mended, to be made back into the way it was supposed to be.

Haha...sorry for yet another random rambling here. I'm not sure if it makes any sense! Since the next 10 days of Ramadhan is filled with His forgiveness, I thought I'd bring up this issue of 'mistakes/forgiveness'. Seriously though, some things are just meant to happen even if you try so hard avoiding it. Forgive a mistake today, and someone might just already forgive you back. The world revolves happily when everyone works together. Seek forgiveness, give forgiveness. Think positive! Congratulations to all Muslim readers for making it thus far throughout the fasting month. Aminnn..!

[UPDATES]
I've made so many mistakes to so many people, and I'd like to take this oppurtunity to ask for all humans out there for their forgiveness. Sincerely from my heart, "I'm sorry!" Updates for this time is up and running. I was thinking of adding one or two new titles by the 21st, and I'd like for the readers opinions. Criminals nowadays are real psychos, and they've got a new style too. Now, they attack without warning. I've got this sudden chill in the spine when I heard my parents talking about a car theft that had just occured somewhere in Malaysia. To put it simply, the victim that had its car stolen is now in a coma since its head was shot. Scary! My parents were really concerned, saying that criminals nowadays don't ask much question in getting the job done. Erase, and get what you want. It's that simple for them.

This issue always gets my stomach churning. My family members, friends and readers are all out there across the world. I just can't stop worrying since you never know what will pop up. Right now, I only pray intently that all whom I care for are safe from harm. Insyaallah...again, this is a warning post. Do become extra careful. Crimes will pay, one day. Take care!

[UPDATES]
Evil lurks since there are motives within the human heart. Then does pure evil exist within them? New updates for this time folks! Sorry for a late update, been a bit off the hook. Ah, it's raining! Well then, enjoyyy..!! "Shot :: Cloudy, Cloudy Indolence" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

[REVIEW]
Since I'm a manga freak, it'd be weird if I don't have any manga review in this page. Getting my review today is a manga by Kazuki Takahashi; 'Yu-Gi-Oh!'. That's right. This popular manga is the basis of the famous Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card games that once took Malaysia by storm. Having a unique title, many would wonder what the story is about. This manga is actually a story about a boy named Yugi, who manages to complete the Millenium Puzzle and gets possesed by a pharaoh spirit. Now Yugi has a double personality; one the weak and hesitant original, the other a proud and confident pharaoh.

Thus begins their adventures, with two souls sharing one body. Takahashi-sensei had put an interesting theme in this manga, which is the theme of 'games'. Each obstacles faced by Yugi in the story are in game form, where Yugi and his companions need to play games for their safety and for their lives. The most notable game is the card game (which had been made popular), and this had been the main core throughout the manga.

One other thing is the Millenium Artifacts. Remember the Millenium Puzzle? This is just one of the seven Egyptian artifacts that has magical powers. Others who possess this artifacts might have speacial powers, and some are evil. These villains are quite powerful, and play games by the 'Dark Rules'. Well, at least they play by the rules. Not like our criminals in reality! All in all, the manga is quite fun to the end. Maybe the card games could get draggy, but it's packed with emotions and strategy! (Rating: 3.9 out of 5)

It's Tastier When...

Still on the issue of food, I want to voice out what I think is the most important in making food taste better. It's not the ingredients, and it's not the surrounding. Food are much tastier when eaten together! That's right, it feels so good eating something with a company. Whether you're out for dinner, or indulging some sweet ice-cream...the taste and appetite really comes out when you're eating them with your family or friends. I'm not saying something totally random here. I've come to realise that I can't finish my favourite Chachos whenever I eat alone. I know I can just finish a bag of those chips by myself, but I can never bring myself to do it. It really is 'tasteless' when I'm not sharing it with someone.

Aha, I guess I'm being emotional over this 'eating together' issue since I just remembered how I made friends with new people upon entering MRSM for the first time by just having a meal together. During my early stay in the boarding school, I always end up eating by myself at a far corner of the dining hall. Food tasted bleak, and I always had no appetite. One day, someone suddenly came and had lunch together with me. At that time, we became friends and food had been better than ever. And that guy, he became one of my best friend soon after. Well, that's another story to tell then.

Eat well, eat plenty, and eat together! Want some unfinished chips? Hehe, enjoy your days readers. No new updates for today, take care!!!

[TRIBUTE]
A tribute today to all Malaysia's television dramas and movies! You have sparked some sense of imagination within my writer's mind, in a more Malaysian way. I've always been too interested with Western and Japanese stories, so thank you for making me realise that Malaysian stories are also unique in its own simple manner. A speacial tribute to dramas/movies having Eja as their actress. I'm a big fan of her since primary school! (haven't watched 'Sepi' yet, so sad...)

[BLABBERS]
On the way back home from Klang today, the radio was playing Scorpion's 'Winds of Change'. I listened intently, and pondered for a moment out the wet road. As you grow up, it's harder to change your habit espeacially those 'bad' habits. Thus today, I decided to remind all readers and myself to change these 'bad' habits still residing within our hearts. Everyday is a day for a change. Wheteher the winds of change are raging or calm, always remember that we're still humans! Is the price of oil going down? Now that's a change I think everybody hopes for!

Introducing, Eccentric Foods!

In a way, cooking is a form of art as well. The 'artists' that are widely known as chefs, battle it out everyday to come out with an original and interesting 'masterpiece' (which is their food). I just came to realise, that in a modern day like this; it's no surprise if you stumble into some unique taste and sight in food. In a personal view, I believe it's very sporty of chefs to come up with such things. But do I really want to eat such food? Here's a list of some of the eccentric foods I've come across with!

1. Ayam Masak Hijau - Really, it's totally green! The colour is quite vibrant in a way, and perhaps it's another form of 'rendang' made with peas as one of the main ingredients. I never really like exessive vegetables in a chicken dish. It looks tasty though.
2. Coca-Cola Cake - Now here's a weirdo. Who ever thought of making a cake out of a carbonated drink? I love Coke, but I don't think I'd want to indulge in a Coke Cake. It must be REALLY sweet!
3. Kek Gulung Pisang Berkeju - No rules applied in making food everyone! I have this set of mind that fruits can never really go well with cheese, but I guess some taste buds can handle it. Banana with cheese anyone?
4. Squid Ink Curry - What else can I say? It's also known as black curry, and I think it's widely accepted in Japan!

There you have it. All of them are very amusing to hear and see, but I won't eat them. Maybe I'm not as adventurous when it comes to food. LEGOs are one of the two types of toys I onced had in the past. Playing with these multi-shaped cubes was really fun at that time; I learned to build houses and I learned to arrange shapes. Now, when I look at LEGOs and how they have expanded...I was quite impressed. Many different versions of this toy can be found at toy stores; ranging from Star Wars to Bionicles. I rarely even see the basic version I had once when I was small. All in all, it is a fun and creative product. It evokes creativity and imagination in a child, so don't hesitate to get one for your kid! Just be careful of choking though, for those younger than four. (Even grownups play with LEGOs too! Here's a picture taken by Balakov using LEGO pieces, and all of his LEGO artworks can be viewed here.)

'Densha Otoko' or 'Resident Evil'...?

As I rattled away on a train to Seremban, I indulged myself into a manga (Japanese comic book) that I had bought earlier. You should know, once I totally get myself attached with a manga I become totally oblivious of my surroundings. I would occassionally take a few seconds of break by glancing around, and that's when I noticed a girl staring at me with a face probably saying; "An otaku?" Her face didn't show signs of a taunting, but it was more of an interested expression. Wait, isn't this partially a scene in 'Densha Otoko'? Where a regular girl becomes interested with an otaku (person with obsessive interest in manga, anime and video games) inside a train? Suddenly, there was a loud bang and all the lights went out. Ugh...now I'm in 'Resident Evil'?

Haha...train travelling is quite interesting. I totally enjoy it, as I use it more than buses touring the town or travelling to another state. Train fares might be a little costy, but the travelling time is short. You can almost get to anywhere without encountering traffic jams (though on peak hours, it's quite hectic even in a train). For me, train travels are a time for 'human observation' and 'imagination elaboration'. As a writer, meeting different types of people is crucial in a character creation and almost every type of humans ride the train everyday. I've met guys with bouquet of flowers with interesting colours, I've even met a child with green eyes. I've heard people sneer in anger, I've even heard weird sounds that are quite frightening. In a train, I seem to understand humans better. In a train, it seems like fantasies are brought to life.

Furthermore, I sometimes think it's quite romantic in a train! The scenery constantly changes from one place to another; a busy city view one moment, a serene village scene the next. They haven't marked people in love riding the 'love train' for no reason. It doesn't matter where the train will stop, as long as that speacial someone is there with you!.How I wished to have a whole day of train travelling with my future significant other (make sure there's no comic at my hand)! Well, perhaps it's not that romantic when it's too packed. =P

I've talked too much here. Try and enjoy a nice day in a train. It might just do good. One more thing; when I have a manga in my hand, I never do human observation! Sorry staring girl, I'm not interested. Hehehe...(perasan)

[UPDATES]
I wrote just a little too much for other segments to show this time. I'll try to keep it low next time. Haha...it's been a while since I ever wrote about my romantic side to others. Maybe I've forgiven myself finally? Or maybe I just wanted to be hurt even more? Well, lets enjoy these new releases first! =)

1. Yes folks, it's fasting time! The weather's just nice at this time around; not too hot and not too cold, meaning that we the muslims in Malaysia need to thank our God even more. What comes to my mind this Ramadhan is: food! Yeap, delicious foods. That's why this month's season, is the season of food. And as a celebration of Ramadhan opening days, I've added in a few new sections for this main page. Hooorayy! Just don't get too hungry yet, the days have only just begun. Well, I hope all muslims in the world would have a nice Ramadhan start. The first 10 days...let us grab this chance to improve our 'ibadah' even better, and may Allah fill us with His grace. Aminnnn!

[UPDATES]
Wait! Didn't I wrote the entries on '1 September'? Why does it show '31 December' then? Haha, no matter. We've got to be more patient this month, so that our good deeds multiply! Readers, please pray that I would not be writing lazily this month because of fasting. I'll always remind myself that we can't be weak when it comes to Ramadhan, but must be much more stronger! Enjoyy...!

1. "Shot! :: My Cup of Tea" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

[RECIPE]
Welcome all to one of the brand new section in DANS mainpage! Since it's already the fasting month and I've choosen 'season of food' for September, I thought I'd put up a recipe section for all those cooks-to-be (or maybe you're already good at it and want to add in your knowledge). Cool! But do be prepared, I'm not at the level to create my own recipe yet; so far their extracted from a website, a television serie or a book (which I will be crediting at the end). Cool! Let's start with a recipe of a dessert...

-Buttermilk Crepes-

You need: 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 cup of buttermilk, 1 teaspoon (tsp) of vanilla extract, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 and a 1/2 cups of all purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tablespoon (tbsp) of unsalted buter melted.

What you do then:

Whisk together eggs, buttermilk and vanilla extract in a bowl. Then add the sugar.

In another bowl, carefully put in cinnamon, flour and baking powder together. Sift it (I think it means 'gaulkan') before whisking it into the other mixture earlier. Stir in melted butter afterwards. If the new mixture is too thick, add buttermilkslowly into a pourable consistency. Let it for 10-15 minutes before making.

Heat a flat, non-stick pan (regular pan works too!) over medium heat for 5 minutes. Grease the pan lightly with oil before adding 2oz of the batter into the centre of the pan. Cook for 2-3minutes until edges brown. Flip the crepe gently and cook for another minute, before removing from heat.

You're done! Continue with the rest of the batter. Sprinle some sugar on the cooked crepe, and roll it into a cigar shape. These crepe can be warmed in microwaves, and they also freeze very well! Enjoy.

Well, there you have it. This recipe is taken from AsianFoodChannel (AFC) website on Anna Olson recipes, so credits to them! I think crepe is like 'lempeng' or 'apam balik', so maybe you guys can add in some nuts, jams or ice-cream inside your crepe. Try it this fasting month! No need to buy desserts at the bazaar then do we? Happy cooking everyone!!

Your say in Independence!

In line with Malaysia's 51st-year of independence, let us all Malaysians shout "Merdeka, Merdeka!" in our hearts aloud! Let me remind you not to just say the chant without really understanding what independence means, now and then. Along the lifeline of myself, I've enjoyed Independence Day in numerous ways. The most exciting was probably during Form 3, where the students at my school had to paint the national flag on pieces of cloth. The class with the longest flag wins. What was interesting was how some of the students from different classes were very clever to make some sort of alliance among themselves, combining their cloth with the others. In the end, all classes began to combine. That day we produced a REALLY long flag, hand in hand, making us all winners! That's why until today, I believe unity is the core of any type of independence. (*wink*) This year's Independence Day, I'd like to dedicate my best regards to the young people of the nation! My cousin here, Siti Syafiqah, is a really sweet and intelligent little girl. With proper attention and teachings, many children like her would continue to make our country's independence strive and preserve its true meanings forever! ----> (What's your say in independence? Come, write about your thoughts in the commentary collumn. Speech, thoughts, dedications...anything related to Malaysia's Independence Day is welcome! No new updates this time, and Happy Independence Day!)

[TRIBUTE]
This tribute is dedicated to everyone who did their best to achieve and preserve the nation's independence! Another part of graduation, completed in style. Everyone looked great, everyone looked happy. I wished we would stay like this forever, but then again, future has its own way of presenting itself. For me, Graduation Day is not just about the certificates and flowers...it's also about how much I realised that we have all grown up! Upon our first meeting on 2006, until the day we officially completed our studies...lots of things has happened and changed. I'd like to dedicate to everyone a huge thank you and congratulations, espeacially my beloved classmates, for making it through it in one piece! What was most important to me, is that we did it together. As friends, as a group, as TESLs, as a family. We finally completed our studies in our own way! I opened with a picture, and I seal with it again. This time, it's the charming young men of TESL (batch 7)! Enjoyy your days.

[UPDATES]
TESL people are speacial, and if you are one I hope you feel speacial too. "Zero Degrees: Three" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/
2. Or just looking for interesting information on occults? Today, I'll review a spooky book entitled "Missing: Spirited Away" by Gakuto Coda which I find it a very interesting read. This novel is a unique novel, where the mystery of the story really gets deeper and deeper along the end, making you want to know more and more. A rough synopsis: there was a group of 5 friends in a high school club, each having different personality and traits. One of them, Kyoichi Utsume, has a mysterious ability connected with the 'other' world. To make it short, one day Kyoichi vanished! Their friends then desperately went on a lookout for him, trying separate methods. Mystical and scientifical. I won't go on further, but I would recommend it if you're into occults and ghosts. It's quite popular in Japan, there's even a manga on it! Well, right now I'm reading the second book "Missing: Letters of Misfortune", and I think it's really good. Hehe, well the rain is quite refreshing nowadays. It has been too hot in the past few weeks. Recently I had two seperate drives with my parents; one with my mom sending my brother back to his boarding school and one with my dad as we went to lunch after my official business. The drive with my mom was quite smooth at first (eventhough the rain seemed dangerous that day) but it got slower on the way back. There was a road block by the police officers (I think there was a murder!) and the traffic jam lasted for eternity. I remembered during Form 4, in an English oral exam, I was asked how do I see Malaysia in ten years time. One of my answers that I remembered was, "I see Malaysia having flying cars on their roads and many underground tunnels to solve the endless problems of traffic jams." Well, can that really happen? I guess I was too naive back then, but I did wish during the drive with my mom that Malaysia would hurry up with the flying cars and underground tunnels!
Haha...then the drive with my dad was filled with advices for me. I think I've changed a bit with more maturity, as I never really talked with dad about myself when I was younger (though I still am very quiet in the family). One thing that he said, was to learn from your past. And I will dad!

[UPDATES]
Readers, there is a new title this time! It's a part of my 'TESL Production' project, so do check it out okay? Dwane's the main cast this time. Hehe...enjoy and have a nice rainy season. Oh yeah, there's going to be a speacial release titled 'Your Say in Independence' here. So I want you guys to give me your speech later to show your love to our country, Malaysia!

Click the link next to the titles for the new releases:

1. "Zero Degrees: Two" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/
2. "Shot! :: Teachings of a Homeless" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/
3. "Dwane VS The Enigma: Prologue" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

[FEATURE]
In this post, I'd like to feature something speacial to me as writer personally. I present you: Pilot G-2 Pen! The only type of pen I put my trust in to. I began to use this type since form one, and I always make sure I have one in my pencil case up until today. The pen helps me in having a smooth and quick writing (I tend to write much slowly with other type of pens), and I think the design is fairly simple and attractive (a bit unnecessary here...hehe). However, the only fatal weakness is that the ink is VERY sensitive towards water, and is unsuitable for exams/forms purposes. Sigh, but I still love this pen! Try and win my heart, other pens! ;p

[BLABBERS]
Again, the society strikes an otaku branch. This time it hits those figurines lovers. I'm not much of a figurine collector, but I understand their dissapointment when some people think that they collect models for dirty reasons (like accusing all manga fans as also readers of hentai). I have to say, that there are some obscene models but most (90%?) are decent items suitable for all ages. Maybe some had accidently put out a provocative figurine for display, but some hard warnings would have been enough and they would learn their lesson. No need to blame and 'hit it hard' on ALL fans right? To all figurine lovers, don't get down when they say you're weirdos. As a manga fan, I assure you it's fun being weird. No, not weird. We're eccentric! =)

My Feet Walked Up to 'Classics'

The unusual and mysterious sub-concious mind. I went to a bookstore yesterday hoping to find something interesting to read, and decided that I'll find a book under anything except from the 'Classics' shelf (since I thought I've had too many classics for once). Turned out I was wandering aimlessly from aisle to aisle, when a horror book caught my attention. It seemed interesting with a catchy title, I was quite delighted reading the book's description. My jaw dropped when I noticed that the book was under the 'Classics' section. Maybe I do have some kind of weird connection with classical books? Finally, I bought the book (entitled: "Not Exactly Ghosts" by Sir Andrew Caldecott) and also a Malay novel (entitled: "Dear Yayah" by Farihah Iskandar) which is quite rare in my actions of buying books. The last time I read a Malay novel was probably during Form 5. Well that's a two years gap! Mind do have its ways for quirks and surprises. =)

p/s: Right now I'm beginning to open my heart to different aspects/genres in books, as a part of my training to become a writer. My fatal weakness has always been in description of surroundings and physical traits of characters. Help! It's Anisah's birthday today, so happy 20th birthday girl(no updates this time, folks)

[REVIEW]
"WALL-E", another wonderful production from Disney/Pixar. I've grown up watching most of their production (missing only "Cars" and "Finding Nemo") and all of it managed to capture my attention with their unique characters and themes. Last time I watched "Meet the Robinsons" who taught us to 'keep moving forward', this time with my family; "WALL-E" had succesfully showed its own teachings to not be too dependable on technology. In the story, Earth had been too filthy to live in and all humans have gone up to space to spend some time there while robots called WALL-E clean up the mess. Turned out that most WALL-E robots malfunctioned, leaving only one left doing its work. Many years later, a robot called EVE came to investigate Earth... What's interesting in the story is mostly how human emotions are prominent in WALL-E's character. He (or it?) shows fear, curiousity, lonliness and even love towards EVE. These traits seemed to mock the 'sloth' humans up in space, where they themselves act like robots; not walking by themselves, unsociallised, oblivious of their surrounding. After watching this movie, I'm sure most of us would want to do better for ourselves!
(Rating: 4.2 out of 5)

p/s: The romance between WALL-E and EVE was interesting as well. I liked the way EVE shows her womanly 'seriousness' and 'wrath', while WALL-E managed to show the 'idiotic' and 'stubborness' of a man in love! But what's worth the awe, is how both took care of each other. You would want to think twice before making a woman angry - with the 'wrath' and all. Hehe...

Perhaps I'll go faster..?

Meet Togepi, one of the cutest Pokemon! The gittering eyes, the naivity of its movements...I just feel like hugging it, if it was real. It's good to once in a while imagine unrealistic things to lift the mind off of stresses and pressures. Perhaps you want the power to fly, maybe you want to possess the economics of the world, or you just want to confess to the person you like! Having dreams of your own really puts a 'kick' in your life; spicing it up here, sweetening it a bit there. But don't get too caught up in your own imagination. Sometimes, it really hurts when reality starts to bite back. Hey, if that dream of yours is achievable...work hard towards it. There's always a twist in every aspect of life.

[UPDATES]

Well, that's fast for a new update. A speacial tribute to the teachers of SKBBS, MJSC LENGGONG, MJSC KKB, KMPH and KMS...you guys have definitely inspired me in many different ways. How they feel, how their actions may affect them, how my actions may effect them...these are the regular worries that comes to me when I interact with people. I become totally worried when it comes to my siblings. It's sometimes hard when you're the eldest. You try to be that caring and cool brother, but you don't realise that sometimes you're just being hard on them. Many of my friends have never seen me get really mad or upset, but my brothers have seen everything. Either when they went out of sight during dusk, or when they don't get what I was teaching them (the same thing over and over again); my emotions do run a bit out of control. Sometimes I think I'm much nicer to others than them. But I know that's not true. I always believed that sharing all of our emotions (happy, sad, angry, depressed) with someone, means that you want them to understand and care for you. Even though they rarely show it, I'm always touched by how they look up to me and love me. =)

[Thank you to Farris and Hafiy for being such great brothers. "Zero Degrees: Prologue" - http://dansoriginal.blogspot.com/

[REVIEW]

I went to watch a movie the other day and decided to give a review on it since the storyline was quite interesting. The movie was called "Mirrors", and it's an 18SG movie (not suitable for the young...hehe). What attracted me in this 'horror + psycho' genre was the impression of mirrors it used in the story. In the movie, the main character is confronted with some sort of evil inside mirrors which wants him to find 'Esseker'. It turned out that the evil residing in the mirrors was the psychotic nature of a person named Esseker, collecting human souls by killing them through any kind of mirrors. The movie did a wonderful job in inflicting some sense of paranoia (is this a word?) towards mirrors, as the main character could not escape from mirrors wherever he goes. There are mirrors in the bathroom, in a locker, attached to cars and even puddles of water could be some kind of mirrors. If you were chased by something from the mirrors, can you really escape? Realise this, mirrors are everywhere!
(Rating: 3.5 out of 5)

Thus it begins,yet again!

Welcome all to yet again to another part of DANS writing production.
