Phenomenal

My mind seemed to have wondered quite far these past few weeks. So far, that I'm not sure if I can find back the original road that I was on before. When I try to go back, there's doubt. When I want to move forward, there's a heavy rain. Yes, the rain ain't stopping yet.

Hello readers! Sorry for the confusing introduction, but it puts my mind at ease when I make some of my thoughts clear through writing. Even though the gap between this post and the previous one isn't that ridiculous as before, but it's still wide. I need my writing spirit back! Help me! But hey, I did look for ways to get help and I found one. I'm going to go to some sort of writing seminar next week organized by SERUMPUN, and the theme "Melangitkan Karya, Membumikan Cinta" just swept me off my feet. Hope I get the the chance to enhance my writer's enthusiasm and acts.

The reason why I want to be back on track is because I have this dream. The dream to do something big, something phenomenal. I want to move people with what I do, and I want the world to be shaken (in a good manner of course) by my name. When we were still young, my brother Farris and I had the idea to spread the Azere (our second name) name and build the Azere empire. I still want that, and I know my brother is doing it in his own way for now.

This October is the month of smiles! And in line with my dreams especially in achieving a phenomenal grade, I've also launched my first ever campaign related to this month's theme. Welcome to DANS October Smile Campaign! The details can be read in the 'Campaign' section below, so I hope that it'll get a good response from the public. For now I'll pray hard for things that I really want, strive to work intensely and let fate decide the rest. Take care readers! :)

[CAMPAIGN]

Hello! Welcome to DANS October Smile Campaign! In conjunction with my university's upcoming convocation, I've decided to hold a Smiling Campaign this hold month.

Smiling is, in fact, something easy to do. It's a symbol of happiness, it's fun, it's sweet and it's a simple gift that any human can ever give to someone. I like smiles a lot, since it reminds me that there are still some things in this world that can make the heart flutter. My specialty is suddenly smiling when reading something sweet and romantic anyway. :P

So how does the campaign work out? It's simple. Just send me a picture of you or your group through e-mail, showing smiles that you think are the best. Also tell me what makes you smile. I'll gather up all of the pictures by the end of every week and post it up for people to see (here at my blog, Arlene), so that they too can be inspired to smile more and participate in the campaign. Sharing is caring right? I hope that by doing this we can spread the smiles through even the darkest hours.

Below I've inserted a step by step method as to how to make this campaign active. You can promote this campaign with your friends, through your blog or even forward it to your institutions. I hope that everyone will have a great day, and a smile that promises to stay strong always. Thanks a billion.

1. Get your best picture (solo or group, old or new, drawn art is also acceptable) showing the best smiling pose.

2. E-mail your picture to danielazere@yahoo.com along with details below:

* Name
* Current school/university/workplace/location
* Reasons that make you smile
* E-mail (optional)

3. Check out your picture at the end of every week at this blog and spread the smiles!

[REVIEW]

I've never really been a big fan of newspapers. So on the date that IIUM's (International Islamic University Malaysia) first ever newspaper 'The Torch' was supposed to come up, I totally forgot about it (even though I was kinda anticipating it the day before). When a friend of my came to me holding it, I slapped my head.

Anyways, 'The Torch' issue number one is out! With a collaboration with the New Strait Time (NST), IIUM finally published it's very own student's newspaper. It's not as thick as a regular paper, but the news inside was definitely concise and well written. The paper focuses greatly on news related to IIUM and it's people; which makes it easier for the IIUM community to relate with the stories published. Oh and the paper was free for all.

What makes me kinda proud about the paper is the fact that it's a project that requires a lot to do to pull it off, and the paper's team (consisting of mostly the students themselves) managed to give a clean start to The Torch. When it came out almost everyone I met around the campus was holding one, and it indeed has garnered a phenomenal start. Though there were a few minor errors that I noticed, I'm really supporting the best for the newspaper's prospects in the future. If there's some extra money, I hope that The Torch can improve in the quantity of it's content and sections. Good job! (Rating: 4.3 out of 5)

Resting! (as a University Student)

The gap between this post and the previous entry is, in a way, utterly ridiculous. I've always avoided the 'diary-like' kind of post, so that's why there aren't a lot of things to say here (or am I making excuses now?). All in all, welcome back Daniel Azere!

This month of July marks the season of holiday. Where students (especially those on the tertiary levels) go out and about, enjoying the summer sun or winter snow, traveling across borders with families and friends. Some also might prefer the comfort of their home, munching cookies along the way, doing stuff that could never be exactly fitted properly in their busy student's life. Some might even opt the challenge to take on a job, getting a few extra cash to be kept or spent during the relaxing holiday period. The resting time for students is here, almost for each and every one of them.

Taking a rest from the university for isn't about getting the mind off of studying. Personally, I adore learning. Plus being at the university allows me to meet people a lot. What I truly want to take a rest on is basically from the non-academic activities. Don't get me wrong, getting involved in programs make me feel alive. But at times when there's a direct wave of things to do and programs to settle, the energy from the body and mind just seeps away quickly without time to recharge properly. I know that this may be the result of me not having proper time management (working hard on this, don't worry!), I'm just glad that now I get some 'me' time and finally put my thoughts in writing.

So how's your holiday going on for you? Come share with me if you feel like it. As a final word, get the time to recharge and let me see all of you with a renewed spirit for the new semester. Until next time, take care!

[UPDATE]

Actually, I didn't go through (almost) one year of gap without any creative input. But lately I've been involved in poetry, so if any of you haven't checked it out be sure to go through the link at bottom. On a side note, my friend (Luq) and I have finally self published our very own poetry book last year! It was an exciting experience, and our second book is on the way. So do anticipate for it~ :D

Happy BELATED Birthday Dear Bloggy (Arlene)

Life is not without any heartbreaks. No matter how you try to turn things around, the heart is still a super sensitive organ (perhaps like glass). Time after time we mend this glassy heart; how many times has it been broken?

The month of August so far was a season for countable heartbreaks, with September creeping in tomorrow perhaps bringing along some light of hope. But one of the greatest lessons I've learned in life is that in times when you have heartbreaks or get depressed or become extremely sad, always remember to look for that 'box of delight' to cheer you up. Every single human have their own personal customized 'box of delight', that some don't even know it existed. It can consist of a talk with the family, a walk in the park with some friends, playing games and also reading a book. It is always filled with the things that you enjoy and have fun with. People tend to dwell too much on their troubles that they are pulled even deeper into complicated emotions. So if you are having a heartbreak now, go find that box now!

Want to know one of the things inside my box? My dear bloggy! Whenever I feel the need to express and get creative and have fun with words, she's always here for me to do so. And guess what? 14 August was her 2nd birthday. Happy belated birthday bloggy! It took me a while to figure out a gift, but I've decided that as a present to this blog I'm going to give it a name. So from this moment on this blog is going to be named: Arlene!

That's it for this time then. As a final note, remember that hardships are there for testing us in life and that God has already gave a pass for everyone as long as we follow his guidelines. All of you should know how to have fun sometimes, because all of you deserve it. Take care now! =)

[UPDATE]

I thought of having many updates this month, but it seems that I'm still slacking in time. No matter, let us pray for a less heartbreak time in the future. Onwards!

World Class

"Who can hold their nerve, with the whole world looking upon them."

Having a world class skill or a world class reputation, the whole world is actually looking or observing you. The quote above was taken from a commentary of the Japan VS Paraguay penalty shoot-out yesterday (I noticed that sport commentators are very creative in a way). But what does it take to be 'world class'? Does entering a worldwide competition makes you a world class competitor? Does scoring the appropriate points makes the things you do is on a world class level?

I believe that everyone has the possibility to become world class. Of course, they need to work hard, believe in their own selves and have the ability to uphold the pressure of the world. I'd like to stress on self-confidence here, as the world will believe in you when you are able to believe in yourself more. No matter what you do, be proud of the results and do better the next time you do it again. >.<

I have a target to become world class in my writing, so first I need to brush up my pace. What's your world class target? Tell me. Just remember here that I believe you can do it. ^^

[UPDATE]

Here I am finally with an update. I've decided to take my time here to get my rhythm back, so please bear with me! I made a change in my update section, this time you just have to click at the title. Simple right? I'll make this brief, so keep on moving forward guys. Let's go!

Oh Wow!

Wow, I can't believe that it's been more than 7 months since I last updated! And I can't imagine that here I am right now 4.30am in the morning, writing something. Guess I'm up and about now. Let's see if this keeps up for long enough. Onwards!

World Cup is finally here. I know that I was never a big fan of football or soccer, and has only just recently showed a bit of interest. But World Cup is quite a grand event, with a lot of positive intensity and excitement. I remembered when I was really young I used to try my best to stay up at night accompanying my dad to watch the games. As I went on with my teenage years, I never cared much about it and seemed to have left my dad to watch the game alone most of the time. So to dad, I'm excited about World Cup once again. Wait until I get back home for the holidays eh? ^^

There has been other major events going on, with the attack on Flotilla (which I pray that the vicious are damned) and the heart going further "tasteless" (which I hope gets better soon). But all in all, it's been an adventurous 7 months which I one day hope to get it on ink and papers.

As a final note on the start of my new blogging season, no updates this time. Haha, but it's on it's way. So do wait and until next time!

[BLABBER]

And it kicks off! Just so you know, I'm rooting for Netherlands a.k.a. Holland! The early days of World Cup has been entertaining so far, and I've only watched two matches: South Africa VS Mexico, England VS USA.

Being the advocate for this year game, South Africa showed spirit and tenacity. Even though it may not be the most favored team, they managed to concede a first goal against opponent Mexico with a nice counter-attack strategy. Mexico, being rather unlucky in the match in my opinion, did not stand still. They managed to score a goal with only 20 minutes left on the clock. It ended in a 1-1 draw.

A huge disappointment dropped on England's fan as the England VS USA match ended with a draw of 1-1. An early score (4 minutes) from England seemed to show that the team had the games in their hand. However USA showed that they too had power of their own, when a shot from them made England's keeper fumbled and scored a goal. It was indeed a very intense fight when second-half began, yet it ended in a stalemate.

What about your World Cup experiences so far? Catch up later folks! ^^

The Sweetness of Teamwork!

"What's gonna work? -- Teamwork!"

Of course, most of the young children know where this tag line comes from. That's right, this month is the season of teamwork -- where trusts are given, and success achieved. It's true that at times working alone is the best way, but no one can make it 100% on their own throughout their life. They would go crazy!

How can we strive for the sweetest effect of doing teamwork? For starters, be friendly and converse. It's hard to understand someone if there's no communication. I know I'm really bad at talking, but I try my best to take action through (perhaps) other means of communication. When there's a connection, then it would be a breeze to head towards the same goal.

Uwa, I'm beginning to ramble yet again. Anyways, in conclusion teamwork is quite delicate yet it's really fun. I'll do my best so that among my friends, the bond of teamwork will always stay strong no matter where we are. Take care now readers! ^^

p/s: I've been away for so long, where's the writer's path I'm supposed to follow? Hehe, please scold me...

[UPDATE]

An update? Wow, I'm surprised myself. Although inspirations have been coming non-stop, I lack the time to actually materialize them. I guess that's university life. Well, let us just enjoy whatever we have okay? Roll the updates for this time then!

Dry and Wet

"People learn through many ways, all towards the same final end."

It has been 3 whole months since my last post, and I'm quite disappointed. I've been busy with managing my head and university life that I had almost neglected writing which I love doing most. However, I haven't been away without any developments within myself...so I guess it is forgivable that I've been away for so long.

This month is the season of learning. For some particular reason, my senses and instincts as a teacher were enhanced dramatically this past few weeks. I felt like I wanted to teach already! However, I still have a lot to learn. And I don't want my university life to end so quickly just yet.

  1. Islamic Worldview
  2. Instructional Technology
  3. Linguistics
  4. Educational Psychology
  5. Grammatical Analysis
  6. ELT Methodology
  7. Tools for Thinking
These are the mixtures of the 'dry and wet' subjects I'm taking this semester. I hope I can keep up with my studies while I try my best to write. And I hope I don't blabber on with a 'diary-style' posting later on. Well then, take care readers! Do your best in your own learning and always believe that God is there to help us. Until next time, beware of flu! ^^

[TRIBUTE]

A
tribute to love; to the wonder it gives, to the warmth it provides. Special tribute to those who love themselves and love doing good things. Have a lovely day everyone! ^^
